To decide that it is perfect means bestowing slavish obedience on it before such an assessment can possibly be made. The obedience is primary and is what holds up the notion of the authority being "perfect".

Also thinking about it a bit.... how can an imperfect being such as ourselves even *conceive* of a perfect being? Wouldn't any of our conceptions - by definition - be imperfect?

So when we say 'perfect' do we just mean 'much better'?
